ShelterCare Intro Information


ShelterCare Intro is the latest addition to the family of ShelterCare Pet insurance programs, and may be offered by all animal welfare organizations to the owners of newly adopted pets. This valuable new program provides new adopters with the peace of mind that their pet is covered for all new illnesses and a range of accidents beginning at 1 minute past midnight on the day that they enroll. In order to encourage adopters to take the responsible step of insuring their new pet as soon as they leave the shelter, we have extended a special offer of $1 for the first month’s premium ($14.05 each month thereafter for the first year).

ShelterCare Intro provides animal welfare organizations that are not using the free PetPoint/EPE software with an alternative to the ShelterCare Gift.

We encourage you to talk to your adopters about the real value that ShelterCare Intro provides – the $4,000,000+ in claims paid out by ShelterCare Pet Insurance Programs to date has ensured the ongoing quality of life for many thousands of recently adopted pets and we are here to make sure that we can do the same for many more.

ShelterCare Intro provides up to $500 per incident for illnesses and covers a maximum of two illnesses per year. This coverage is available for use on ALL illnesses that were not noted, symptomatic or pre-existing prior to enrollment.

ShelterCare Intro also provides up to $1,000 per incident accident coverage for the following accidents:

• Foreign Body Ingestion
• Motor Vehicle Accident
• Bone Fractures
• Defined Poison Ingestion
• Lacerations
• Burns
• Allergic Reaction to Insect Bites

ShelterCare Intro also provides $150 coverage to help re-unite an owner with their lost pet and $100 coverage in those instances where euthanasia is the only medical option.
